Samerth has revived an old pond called ‘Juna Madeva’ near Palasava Village, Kutch. It is a large pond, Samerth has worked in desilting it, removing overgrown trees, bush and shrubs blocking access and even developed water retention area within the pond itself.  After the construction of the pond, since it was a drought year, the Gujarat government stepped in to fill the pond with water from the Narmada river canal and the village panchayat has used this water to provide drinking water to 1500 families of Palasava village.

Currently, 35 farmer  families  from the village have been able to irrigate their land with the water collected from the pond and have begun gowning cumin. Cumin is a popular cash crop of the region allowing for income generation and reduction in distress migration .
