The thrust of the urban programme is to provide elementary education and linkages with the mainstream education system for the socially and economically backward religious minority. Additionally, peace building efforts work towards developing respect and tolerance in the minds of children in an attempt to bring divided communities together. Moreover, SAMERTH works to create alternative livelihood options that cater to the current market trends for youth. Networking and alliance building is sought for reaching these aims.  In Chhattisgarh, SAMERTH works with the Tribals for mobilisation and awareness creation.
