SAMERTH focused on strengthening livelihoods, checking distress migration, providing access to health and education, and working towards creating a society that does not discriminate people on the basis of gender, caste, or religion.

SAMERTH worked on capacity building initiatives, livelihood
restoration, urban development, communal harmony, child
development programmes, health programmes, and alliance with
other like minded organisations.

SAMERTH addressed the water and health problems in the Vagadh area of Kutch. In Ahmedabad, SAMERTH worked on livelihood restoration, education, and peace building initiatives.
